Testing the HDD (hard drive):
There is 4 possibilities that can lead to the HDD going wrong:
- Errors with reading, moving and deleting information/data
- Extremely slow
- OP not being able to boot
- Any other errors not allowing it too boot
To test the HDD there is some software you can run on the computer to check out what is wrong with the HDD. Such as:
- Scandisk
- TestDisk
- HDD Health
However this is not good way of testing the HDD if the computer will not boot. When you get to the HDD during your troubleshooting in order to find out the problem.
Another way of testing your HDD is to take it out and test it with a working computer and run the test software on it to see what is causing the problem.
